How to Install python-opencv software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

python-opencv software package provides Python bindings for the computer vision library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install python-opencv

python-opencv is installed in your system.

Make ensure the python-opencv package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-opencv *

You will get with python-opencv package name, version, architecture and description in a table
